At last… it finally feels like I am getting somewhere with this new adventure of mine.
During the last year I have researched lots of things, freshened up my digital design software skills and learned a few new ones as well. I pondered upon logos, branding and how to keep my different interest areas combined. I joined a few online communities for sharing ideas and insights with likeminded which can be a great support when starting out alone.
I opened shops at a few places and closed some of them down. Decided that the Zazzle marketplace will be my main focus and home for my designs, at least for now. Zazzle seems to have good product range and quality, and most important – you can let your customers personalise the products, adding their own photos and names/text.
Since I am lousy at boasting/telling the world my shops exists marketing I am still trying to learn more about how to get my stuff seen. I guess it does not help that I’m not very fond of a lot of the social media available, many of them seem to be just another way to create more stress because of the constant need to stay active, alert and posting regularly. So I choose to start out by opening a Pinterest account and posting product pins there, at least that is a place already familiar to me. Time will tell what/if anything else might be added in the future.
I am also – finally – getting somewhere with this website, this is where I’ll try to pull everything together. It actually feels like I have a structure to build on now, especially for when I decide to branch out to other platforms to sell my designs on.
One step at a time… I need to remind myself it is still going forward, even if it is a very slow stroll.
